AKW MediCare is the leading supplier of showering, kitchen
and daily living products for the elderly and disabled. With
over 20 years experience in the special needs market we
design and manufacture products specifically with the end
user in mind.
Working with occupational therapists and health care
professionals, AKW create products which are safe and allow
routine tasks to become less challenging.
An innovative choice of showering solutions is available to
cater for the varying en-suite rooms offered within care
homes. Superior strength and design add support to the many
benefits on offer of the extensive range.
Shower seats, grab rails and accessories are also widely
available to provide extra confidence and assistance. Many
of these products are also available in white or contrasting
blue to aid the visually impaired.
AKW also specialise in kitchens for those with mobility
restrictions, and have designed two collections to help in
this scenario. The Independence kitchen provides a bespoke
range fully adapted for the client, whilst the Worcester
range available ex-stock provides a cost-effective
alternative.
AKW are pleased to be involved in numerous care home
projects; for example we provided all of the showering
requirements to Birmingham City Council’s new state of the
art Care Centres. The most recent 64 bed home being The
Perry Tree Centre, which epitomises the council’s plans to
redevelop and improve older people’s services.
With a national sales and surveying team offering detailed
product knowledge AKW are able to offer advice on which
products would best suit the user’s requirements. Providing
unrivalled superiority of service and next working day
delivery, AKW’s products allow people to lead as independent
a life as possible.
