Intercall Nursecall Systems have revolutionised nursecall
technology with their range of cost effective, easy to use
nursecall systems. With thousands of installations
throughout the UK and as far afield as New Zealand and
Dubai, Intercall have established themselves as market
leaders and are honoured to be a recommended supplier of the
RNHA and also the NCA. Intercall’s ongoing development
program constantly produces innovative new features as well
as refining existing systems to provide even more
user-friendly products, and as such they are currently
specified by a large number of the major nursing home groups
in the UK.
There are two main Intercall systems available, both which
can be used by a person with virtually any disability,
providing maximum independence without compromising care.
The Intercall 600 system is one of the most simple and
effective nursecall systems on the market. It is easy to
install and has five levels of call, programmable text, call
logging and the ability to incorporate up to 215 call points
on the system. The built in intelligence allows emergency
calls to be prioritised and the display units allow staff to
see the status of all existing calls at a glance.
The Intercall 700 system is a state of the art system that
builds on the success of the best selling Intercall 600
system. In addition it provides a wide range of features
such as hands free two-way speech facilities between all
audio units. All room call points have built in infra red
receivers, which enables call to be sent remotely from the
call point without the need for trailing wires. Using the
infra red triggers it is also possible to identify the call
to a specific calling resident. The Intercall 700 system is
fully addressable and system configuration – including
resident and room descriptions – are software controlled and
can be altered at any time.
There are a number of additional products in the Intercall
range, which have been designed to extend the capabilities
of the 700 system.
For warden controlled establishments, the Intercall Room
Controller unit allows the speech path to be initiated to a
room without the room having called first, making the
Intercall 700 system ideal for this environment. The unit is
very simple to use with the desired room selected using the
rotary control on the front of the panel. In addition,
general announcements (such as “lunch time” etc) can be made
from the unit and sent to all bedrooms.
Another specialised product in the Intercall range is the
Intercall Dementia Care Unit that has specifically been
developed to provide non-intrusive help for residents who
may need assistance when they are confused. Although
primarily used during the night, the Dementia Care Unit can
provide 24-hour monitoring of patients without the need for
constant intervention from your staff. It enables you to
select a movement profile that is considered to be “normal”
for a particular resident. By controlling the lighting in
the bedroom and en suite WC areas, the dementia unit helps
guide a confused resident to the bathroom and back to bed
without the need for staff to be in the room. If at any time
the resident’s movements do not conform to a pre-programmed
“normal” behaviour pattern, an alarm is automatically raised
to alert your staff through the nursecall system. In
addition, the unit can be configured to monitor bedroom and
patio doors to alert staff immediately if the resident
leaves the bedroom.
The Guardian Staff Safety System is designed to provide
reassurance to staff that someone is looking out for them,
providing a safer more confident workplace. Each member of
staff wears a personal activator on their belt, which has
two levels of call “assistance and “attack”. In the event of
an attack, the unit is tugged from its retaining clip, which
raises the alarm and identifies the exact location of the
call in full alphanumeric text. In addition to its use as an
attack alarm, the personal activator can also be used by
staff to summons assistance without having to leave the
scene of the incident.
