JPA is one of the UK’s leading specialists in care services,
with particular expertise in dementia. JPA offer courses in
the workplace to Managers and Care Workers who provide
health and social care services in hospitals, care homes,
day centres and in the community.
With the belief that people with dementia have special needs
and they should be cared for by people with special skills,
the JPA team is devoted to providing consultancy and
training for those who are committed to developing these
special skills.
Experience
JPA was founded in 1995 by Jackie Pool, a specialist
Occupational Therapist in the field of dementia care. Jackie
has widely published on the care of older people with
dementia, and is the author of the Pool Activity Level (PAL)
Instrument recommended in the NICE Clinical Guidelines for
Dementia for care planning.
Members of the JPA team are regular speakers at national and
international conferences on the subject of dementia care.
They also contribute at government level to national
strategies
At JPA, we pride ourselves on the high calibre of our
Trainers, all of whom have practical experience of caring
for people with dementia. You can be assured of the quality
of their training because all have the National Alzheimer’s
Society Approved Trainer status or are currently working
towards it.
You can also be assured of the quality of our
training material. OCR recognises our programmes as relating
to the levels 2, 3 and 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care
knowledge and understanding requirements. These can be used
in the accreditation of prior learning processes.
Our growing number of partners range from Local Authorities,
NHS trusts, large independent providers of care and national
charities.
Flexibility
We begin our service with a consultation where we listen
carefully to your needs and then offer a range of specialist
courses that we are delighted to tailor to the specific
learning outcomes required by our clients.
Our enthusiastic and dedicated team of Trainers are
situated around the UK and are able to deliver seminars and
workshops in the UK and overseas.
In addition to offering courses in the workplace, we also
have a range of training resources with everything that is
required for an in-house trainer to deliver training about
dementia, person-centred care planning and, the Mental
Capacity Act. JPA Trainers also offer a Train the Trainers
workshop for each of these resources
