NCA called to intervene in important care
home court case |
National Care Association has been invited by the Department
of Constitutional Affairs to intervene in a case at the
Court of Appeal expected to raise important issues facing
the private care sector.
NCA has been chosen as a leading representative of the
private care sector to give evidence in the case of Johnson
and others vs. the London Borough of Havering, to be heard
at the Court of Appeal on January 11 and 12.
NCA will join the legal action in the case by giving its
expert view of the private care industry.
Cherie Booth QC and Professor Aileen McColgan have been
instructed to represent NCA in the case by the Association’s
legal representatives, solicitors Lester Aldridge.
Nadra Ahmed, Chairman of the NCA, said: “NCA has agreed to
intervene in this case because it raises important points of
law which are crucial to all private care providers.”
Peter Grose, Head of the Healthcare Team at Lester Aldridge,
said: “We are delighted to be representing NCA in this case
which is of national importance.”
